The Role

The Ecosystem Lead supports the Regional Director for Region East in the development, impact and sustainability of the ecosystem partnership, as well as the Innovation and Education activities of ecosystem partners within designated parts of the regional geography. This position is focused primarily on the advancement of EIT Digital’s position within the European Digital Technology sector, such as Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, among others, and the effective delivery of cascade funding to the most capable innovation actors in Digital Technology sector.

The role also includes supporting the recruitment, retention, engagement of EIT Digital partners and interaction with national and regional innovation authorities to develop and extend the ecosystem and to strengthen EIT Digital’s financial footprint. The Ecosystem Lead support ecosystem partners, EIT Digital events, monitor and ensure operational excellence of innovation and education activities.

The Ecosystem Lead reports to Regional Director for Region East.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the ecosystem partnership development and the delivery of projects at Region East
    • through the engagement of innovation actors of all kinds to participate jointly with EIT Digital in the preparation and submission of successful proposals to secure funding from major EU innovation and education funds and to participate in the effective delivery of these proposals to secure market leadership for EIT Digital;
    • through leading the delivery and management of operational aspects of the EIT Digital projects, including the DigitalTech EDIH, in close collaboration with the Director and EIT Digital’s innovation and education Leads;
    • through the retention and acquisition of partners;
    • through the recruitment of students for the EIT Digital Education activities and;
    • through the engagement in the EIT Digital Innovation activities.
  • Lead the operational aspects of the EIT Digital’s innovation activities in close collaboration with the Regional Director and the EIT Digital innovation and education Leads;
  • Devise and support EIT Digital events;
  • Supervise and execute administrative, financial reporting, and logistical processes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Extensive experience and understanding of the digital technology sectors which encompasses key technology enablers, break-through solutions from early-stage ventures, and the European venture funding landscape.
  • Academic background (MSc level, preferably PhD) in STEM, preferably digital technology.
  • 5+ years’ experience in operational management role in R&D or innovation organisation.

Languages

Fluent in English and Hungarian with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Place of employment

EIT Digital office in Budapest.
