Transatlantic Cybersecurity 360 Program Kicks Off at UC Berkeley

Cybersecurity 360 kicked off its U.S. Module at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business on November 5, 2018.

A joint programme by UC Berkeley Executive Education and EIT Digital, Cybersecurity 360 is a two-part executive education programme taking place in both the United States and in Europe. The first part of the programme (the U.S. Module), taking place in Berkeley, California, focused on online, platform and cloud services.

Programme participants in the Berkeley module spent a week learning about key, cutting-edge cybersecurity topics such as "Cloud Security and Privacy" and "Data Security and Advanced Blockchain Applications". There were also topics hinging on region-specific expertise, such as "Silicon Valley's Response to Cybersecurity" and "Cybersecurity, Venture Capital, and Legal Challenges".

The programme was taught by faculty comprised of industry leaders from the Silicon Valley community, such as Mark Egan (former CIO of Symantec and VMWare), Lars Rabbe (Yahoo's first CIO, also former IT Director for Steve Jobs), and Andrew Isaacs (Cybersecurity 360 U.S. Faculty Lead and Faculty Director of UC Berkeley's Center for Executive Education).

The U.S. Module concluded with a visit to Salesforce in San Francisco where participants met with Salesforce's privacy and security experts - Taher Elgamal (CTO, Security, who is also recognized in the industry as the "father" of SSL) and Maco Stewart (Sr. Corporate Counsel, Privacy).

The second part of the programme, the European Module, is taking place on 26-30 November 2018. It consists of a week in Munich, Germany and focuses on network, hardware, and manufacturing. Its' faculty is comprised of industry leaders in Europe, such as Manuel Carpio (former CISO of Telefonica). Participants may still register here for the European Module.
