On January 23rd Roberto Saracco, director of the Italian Node of EIT ICT Labs, was invited to give a lecture to teachers at the Buonarroti High School for ICT in Trento to promote a new way of learning through ICT.

The Information and Communications Technologies have changed the world because they provide speed, power and flexibility and because they have reduced transition costs. This has changed the relationship between those who produce/provide services and the ones who benefit from them. This is also having an impact on the education arena where the boundaries between teachers and students and grown up fade. Teachers will continue to play a key role in preparing young people to become leaders. The lecture pointed out new opportunities for a better education in a connected world where ICT is not something to be taught rather to be used.
