The world is digitally transforming. In all domains. On 29 May, three PhD students of the EIT Doctoral School show the status of what research in the domain of Digital Infrastructure they are working at the EIT Digital Doctoral Training Centre in Madrid (Spain).

Alongside the PhD’s presentations, Clara Pezuela, Head of IT Market at R&D in Atos and President at PLANETIC at ATOS Spain and Angel Herranz of the startup Coowry share their views on the future of Digital Infrastructure. Pezuela will focus on fostering the mutual benefits between industry and academy under the EIT Digital framework while Herranz talks about Functional Programming Languages.

The setup of the meetup promises to be inspiring for fellow students in the field of Digital Infrastructure and anyone else who is interested in digital innovations and want to know 'What is happening now'.

Research findings

In slots of 30 packed minutes, the PhD students, working at industry assignments, will present their research to their fellow researchers on Digital Infrastructure across Europa and answer questions from the audience. In this way researchers have knowledge of each other’s findings and to gain insight in the vision on the future of the industry itself.

Industrial doctorate

The PhD programmes of the EIT Digital Doctoral School focus since 2016 primarily on industrial doctorates. Within an Industrial Doctorate, PhD students work under academic supervision on research assignments from industry and benefit from continuous tutoring from this industry.
