About the I3H project

The objective of the "Incubating Internet Innovation Hubs" (I3H) project is to contribute to the sustainability of FI PPP/FIWARE by creating a European network of Internet Innovation Hubs (IIH), regional or thematic clusters that bring together web entrepreneurs, mentors, investors, students, academia, industry, and public sector innovators to speed up the transformation of FIWARE results to services and applications addressing the needs of European citizens, companies, and society. For the initiative our starting point is the initial network of EIT ICT Labs hubs in Budapest, Eindhoven, Helsinki, Madrid, Paris and Trento coinciding with the Nodes of EIT ICT Labs, the Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC) on information society of the European Institute of Innovations and Technology (EIT). The fundamental empowering principle in EIT is the network, the assumption that bringing partners together for collaboration achieves more than partners individually can do. We have just finalized the first open call, selecting 13 new hubs to join IIH Network and will repeat this open call selection process next time in March 2015. However, the IIH Network eco-system remains open to all willing to join and to meet the quality requirements.
