Plugsurfing is one of four winners of the first Challenge Cup, a business competition organized by start-up hub 1776 in Washington DC. Each of the Challenge Cup finalists walked away with an investment, Plugsurfing takes home $100,000 in investments after being named the best global startup in the energy category. 

PlugSurfing GmbH was founded in Berlin in 2012 offering an app to help electric vehicle drivers find charging stations across Europe. By connecting users and providers of electric car charging points, the app has now developed further to allow driver to also pay for charging, all with their smartphone.

platform service for exchange of information concerning the closest charging station in a certain location. Connecting users and providers of electric gas stations, the vision of PlugSurfing is to facilitate daily routines through an intelligent internet service.

The Washington Post honored the Berlin startup as well as three others: CancerIQ, HandUp and eduCanon.

Plugsurfing is one of the promising startups working together with the Action Line Urban Life and Mobility.
