EIT ICT Labs Meets & Greets 285 Master School students

EIT ICT Labs has over last months welcomed about 285 EIT ICT Labs Master School students in the Co-location Centres through special Meet and Greets. The Meet & Greets started Mid-August in Stockholm followed by Eindhoven, Trento, Berlin, Rennes, Helsinki and ended in Paris on 30 September.

The EIT ICT Labs Master School is a pan-European collaboration of 19 Technical Universities and offers a two-year programme with seven technical majors and a minor in innovation and entrepreneurship in which mobility is a key factor. This means that during the two-year EIT ICT Labs Master School, students start the first year at a university and continue their programme the 2nd year at another university in a different country. The programme is especially attractive for students who want to combine technical excellence with an entrepreneurial spirit.

The Master School started in 2012 with some 100 students from more than 20 countries. All of them with a bachelor background in computer science, electric- and computer engineering. This year about 185 students enrolled.

Introduction to the EIT ICT Labs ecosystem

EIT ICT Labs Co-location Centres in Stockholm, Helsinki, Berlin, Paris, Trento and Eindhoven, play a vital role as virtual and vibrant meeting places for project members, students, entrepreneurs, SMEs and start-ups, as well as major industrial partners searching for new talents and new innovative opportunities. It is therefore important for the Master School students to get introduced to the partners and the network within the EIT ICT Labs ecosystem.

Johanna Gavefalk, Marketing Communications Director of EIT ICT Labs explains: “There is an urgent need to strengthen the ICT competence in Europe. Through the EIT ICT Labs Master School programme, students get the opportunity to build a very attractive curriculum  and to experience the international working environment enabling them to build a network for the future. The Meet & Greets and informal meetings organised by the Co-location Centres throughout the year help the students to find their way in the organisation. Our aim is really to empower ICT top talents for the future!
