The Role

The Senior Finance Manager at EIT Digital plays a crucial role in overseeing the organisation's financial operations. Responsibilities encompass financial and administrative control of EIT Digital IVZW and its legal entities, monitoring of budgets, costs, procurements, invoices, revenues and income streams, financial forecasting, risk management, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. Additionally, this role involves supporting the financial coordination of the grant management cycle, including assistance to partner organisations and reporting to EIT, the European Commission, and other public funding agencies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supports all accounting activities and internal audits comply with financial regulations.
  • Support the PMO for the allocation of resources to projects and activities.
  • Manage cash flows.
  • Conduct profit and cost analyses, maintain P&L dashboard.
  • Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual results.
  • Controls budget of all legal entities.
  • Conduct risk management assessments.
  • Develop secure procedures to maintain confidential financial information.
  • Recommend cost-reduction measures as well as making use of new tools and methodologies to increase efficiencies of financial operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • BSc/BA in business administration or related field. MSc is an asset.
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience. Sound understanding of administrative processes. Experience in accounting and reporting is a requirement.
  • Experience with Horizon Europe grant management and EU funding rules and guidelines.
  • Experience working in fast paced environment and/or in an international organisation is an advantage.
  • The candidate is to be proactive, service-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and motivated to drive continuous improvement based on sound analysis.
  • Good communication and outstanding organisational skills, including logistics. Proficient in MS Office tools and applications as well as common virtual presence tools and technologies.


Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of French or Dutch is highly desirable.

Place of employment

Brussels HQ office (employment in another EIT Digital office in Europe may be considered).
