The topic of this week: Beyond Moore’s Law by Professor Yrjö Neuvo

The exponential development of microelectronics as described by Moore’s Law has continued now over fifty years.

Moore’s law type development has also taken place in wireless data, fiber optics and hard disk drives.  As we approach nanoscale the speed of microelectronics development is  gradually slowing down. What are possible ways forward? Are there alternative technologies?

Yrjö Neuvo received his Ph.D. degree from Cornell University in 1974. Currently he is Professor and Research Director at Aalto University.  He was Chief Technology Officer and a member of the Group Executive Board in Nokia in 1993 – 2005.
