The FIWARE Foundation works to develop an open sustainable ecosystem around public, royalty-free and implementation-driven software platform standards that will ease the creation of Smart Applications in multiple sectors. EIT Digital has been a member of the FIWARE ecosystem since 2013, and has contributed to the launch of FIWARE platform which is also used in several EIT Digital innovation activities.
CEDUS - City Enabler for Digital Urban Services innovation activity is providing a FIWARE-based software City Enabler(CE) product for collecting and rendering valuable data at urban scale and allowing the rapid development of urban services.
The OEDIPUS - Operate European Digital Industry with Products and Services High Impact Activity, in turn, pursues the creation of FIWARE-enabled Digital Innovation Hubs to support the digital transformation of European Industries.
Finally, through its Accelerator scaleup program EIT Digital provides European Union wide access to market and to finance to FIWARE-exploiting companies, like the recently in the Accelerator joined Italian TeamDev.
