First Travel Grants issued

XEU Outreach Programme presents a fund to support startups with the opportunity to travel to an important event or to interact with an important players in the field. Important characteristics for a possible approval are relevance, exclusiveness and priority, among others. Teams can get up to a 1000 EUR grant. It is for the first time that EIT ICT Labs awards travel grants for innovators outside the existing network.

Six startups already took a opportunity and were awarded for a certain project: Excalibur, QGo and asiqo (finalists at Telekom Innovation Contest, and EIT ICT Labs’ own Startup Activation Contest and Idea Challenge) have already successfully requested grants for travels in June and July.

Pipeline

Further travels are also already in the pipeline. Transmetrics will benefit to visit their business contact DHL in Brussels in August. And in September, Agroptima will travel to attend the agricultural fair Fira de Lleida in Catalonia. The Hungarian ANGL team will get funding for travels to The Summit CEO in Dublin in November, and Bliu Bliu will travel to Novi Sad Polyglot Conference in Serbia.
