Five business ideas from TechPeaks Batch#2 were awarded with 50k€ grant and the possibility to extend their stay in Trento for 12 more months.
During TechPeaks Demo Day 2014, supported and hosted by EIT ICT Labs Italy, 21 teams presented their business projects.
The teams were judged by the jury of investors composed of representatives from the largest Business Angel networks in Italy: Luca Canepa (counselor for IBAN), Marco Fabio Nannini (Managing Director of IAG), a local entrepreneur with more than 15 years experience in IT and biotech R&D, Ambrogio Monetti, a business manager of PoliHub, Rasha Mozil, and Evan Nisselson, advisor and mentor at TechPeaks as well as investor at LDV Capital.
The best ideas (in alphabetic order) of TechPeaks Batch#2 are:
- Diabetes Lab - smart mobile service to help people take control over their diabete.
- Leevia - a photo petition platform that helps you raise awareness for whatever you care most about, empowering your message with photos.
- Matic - tool to boost card dealer sales, in minutes! With Mistermatic you can maximize the exposure of your ads online.Autoscout24, Automobile.it, EbayAnnunci are only some of the channels where you can post.
- Pronto - unapologetically simple takeaway. You can already dowload their app on AppStore and GooglePlay.
- Ski.pass.go - the disruptive e-commerce platform that brings dynamic pricing to the ski industry.
TechPeaks Batch#2 was composed of 47 entrepreneurs of 14 nationalities. Some of them joined the program as Explorers looking for a team and an idea to validate, whereas some joined as Alpinists with a business idea to take to the top. This year 656 people from 62 nationalities - teams and individuals - applied to TechPeaks Batch#2 to spend 4 months in Trento and grow or create their startup.
TechPeaks is aimed at individuals or teams with skills, talent and passion to start-up successful global businesses in information technology.
