A group of students from the Corvinus University of Budapest, Hungary, visited partners of the EIT ICT Labs in Trento, Bologna and Pisa.

The visit was coordinated by Lilla Hortovanyi from Corvinus University and business developer Fabio Carati, as part of the innovation and business initiatives of the EIT ICT Labs. It took place on 6 - 12 October.

The visit started in Trento, where students learned about work of the Trento CLC, Trento RISE and FBK. The next stop was Bologna, where they visited the oldest university in Europe, University of Bologna, as well as the start-up incubator of the University. In Pisa the group visited Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna as well as tow innovation labs: the Photonics and Telecommunications Lab and the Perceptual Robotics Lab.

In each location, the program started with a general introduction about the local innovation, technology transfer and start-up incubation practices. After the introduction sessions, students met with highly innovative start-up entrepreneurs and learned about start-up financing, business modelling, importance of entrepreneurial team, and most importantly, about entrepreneurial learning. 

The innovation visit to Italy was inspiring. It gave a possibility to know more about knowledge transfer and new technology trends, like the adoption of big data as well as about the business implications of technologies themselves in the field of photonics, telecommunication and robotics. 

The students from the Corvinus University are studying business administration with a special focus on innovation management and this visit was also and exchange of experience between the students and EIT ICT Labs partners in Italy.
