This week, EIT Digital, the leading organization driving the digital transformation in Europe, will take part in the Smart City Expo World Congress, the main international event on intelligent cities, which is held between 19 and 21 November in Barcelona.

“Cities made of dreams” is the topic of this year’s edition, a nod to the fact that many innovations which in the recent past could only be dreamed of, will be showcased at the event.

During the three-day program, more than 400 international experts and 1,000 exhibitors will come together to share insights, product demonstrations and best practices for a more sustainable urban world. More than 25.000 professional visitors are expected.

At booth A52, five scaleups supported by the EIT Digital Accelerator and three Innovation Activities belonging to the Digital Cities focus area will present their latest disruptive solutions in the mobility, safety and city analytics domains.

The team of the Last Mile Autonomous Delivery (LMAD) AAA activity* will introduce its software platform which allows customer to pilot multiple type of robots for various kind of deliveries, making parcel delivery in today’s highly congested cities more streamlined and cost effective.

Mobility and city data analytics are also at the core of Intelligent European Emergency Services  another of the EIT Digital supported innovation activities showcased at the event.

Emergency services providers increasingly deal with growing demand and subsequent increasing response times. By dynamically positioning vehicles to where these are most needed, IEES can dramatically improve the system’s preparedness and simultaneously reduce the number of required vehicles.

By providing public transport passengers with a way to connect on and offline and securely report threats, Do Not Fear, the third activity on show, will make citizens feel safer and enable the organisation of collective solidarity in situations where citizens need it the most.

The five attending scaleups provide a wide range of innovative solutions in fields ranging from connectivity optimization to energy management, privacy and IoT infrastructure deployment and integration. Below a short description of their mission and product offering.
