Infinite Foundry, a Portuguese scaleup that develops an industrial digital twins platform, joins the EIT Digital Accelerator to expand their international presence. Infinite Foundry helps factories boost efficiency and flexibility by managing production in a 3D virtual environment.
Founded in Porto in 2017, Infinite Foundry builds 3D real-time virtual environments of a wide range of industrial facilities. These simulations mimic any operation performed by that facility to allow for remote monitoring, manufacturing optimization, and virtual training, thus saving costs and increasing operational efficiency of production process.
The real-time simulations are constructed by scanning the interior of the facility with lasers that are fed into software that automatically recognises buildings and the equipment within them. The scaleup provides the fastest 3D model of a production facility on the market, thus allowing companies to quickly identify problems and improve efficiency.
Infinite Foundry targets a wide range of industries including automotive, home appliances, energy, aerospace, chemicals, and construction. The scaleup already has 30 large industrial companies such as L'Oréal, Volkswagen, Renault, Bosch, ESA (European Space Agency), and Shell. One of the scaleup’s largest customers, Mercedes Benz, achieved a 12% reduction of the production timeline by implementing the full range of Infinite Foundry’s solutions: from 3D real-time animation for production monitoring, to manufacturing optimization, and ergonomic virtual training of manual operators.
The EIT Digital Accelerator will help Infinite Foundry achieve its internationalisation goals and support them in reaching key decision-makers in production plants, with an initial focus on manufacturers in Germany, France, Italy, and Spain, before expanding across Europe.
