QuantifiCare is an imaging company dedicated to developing and commercialising 2D and 3D digital photography systems and services.
The company's initial focus was on pharmaceutical and cosmetic companies to evaluate skin treatments in multi-centre clinical trials. Quickly realizing the huge untapped potential for 3D imaging with patients, QuantifiCare added aesthetic physicians as another focus area. In order to support its rapid international growth, they have very recently joined EIT Digital's accelerator.
QuantifiCare has a long track record in academic 2D and 3D image processing. They have fostered privileged ties with INRIA, a world-renowned, French public research institute. In parallel, the company has provided innovative research services to major pharmaceutical players to develop objective image-based endpoints and support evidence-based medicine.
Why is 3D photography so important in aesthetic medicine?
Capturing accurate images of the body before and after an aesthetic intervention is vital but even the most sophisticated two dimensional are simply not sufficient.
Three-dimensional photo-documentation with the portable 3D LifeViz® camera is becoming an integral part of the consultative process helping patients to better understand the aging process and determining treatment possibilities with their physician. With the 3D LifeViz® camera, you begin by taking a ‘life-like' 3D image of the body and are then capable of visualizing, measuring, simulating and determining a treatment plan.
Jean-Philippe Thirion, Ph.D., the founder and CEO explains: "We are thrilled to partner with EIT Digital Accelerator which will be indispensable to our further growth and extend our international footprint. The timing of our collaboration is opportune with the 3D LifeViz® Infinity which was recently named the Best Aesthetic Device by an independent panel of experts at the 6th Annual Aesthetic & Anti-aging show presented by EuroMediCom and WOSIAM."
Since 2001, QuantifiCare has been developing innovative 2D and 3D imaging solutions for photography of the skin. QuantifiCare's founders had a unique vision to create a contract research organization (CRO) capable of bringing evidence-based medicine that allows both Sponsors and Physicians to benefit from its success in clinical trials. That existing solution was adapted into a user-friendly, portable and highly reproducible 3D photographic system dedicated to the daily practice of specialists in the aesthetic, plastic surgery and dermatologic fields.
