The Helsinki Node Director Marko Turpeinen visited the morning show on MTV3, a Finnish TV-channel, on Wednesday 13 April. Marko pointed out that Europe has a lot of competence and through the networks of EIT ICT Labs we aim to turn Europe into the global leader on ICT innovation. In order to do this we need to transfer innovations more quickly and efficiently into businesses and understand what are the future areas of ICT.
On that day EIT ICT Labs Helsinki organised Otaniemi Open 2011, a big event that gathered together almost 300 persons from the Otaniemi research community and our partners to network and showcase the latest research results. In the interview Marko explained the focus of Otaniemi Open being in smart spaces and in providing people with ICT enabled services in unique ways that have not been possible before.
