Launch of the EIT ICT Labs Patent Booster training events

The pan-European EIT ICT Labs “Patent Booster Catalyst”, managed by KTH Innovation, is a project aimed at increasing the number of filed patent applications and subsequently granted patents in the EIT ICT Labs eco system. Participants in the project are leading European universities, institutes and companies within the ICT field.

The Patent Booster project will also increase researcher awareness and knowledge of IP in general with a focus on patents through e.g. training and cultural change. In 2012 training events for more than 120 researchers in the ICT field and benchmarking and knowledge sharing across Europe are being organised.

Patent Booster Training Events
Having started on September 25th in Stockholm, a total of six one day workshops will be held across Europe in all EIT ICT Labs Nodes – i.e. also Berlin, Helsinki, Eindhoven, Paris and Trento.

The Patent Booster training is tailored to researchers in the ICT field. It is designed to give participants essential information and insights into patents, patenting and commercialization of their research results and technologies. With relevant and interactive workshops they learn how to evaluate & develop ideas, and how to protect & exploit research results and technologies. After the training event, researchers will know how to:

  • Evaluate their research results and technologies from a commercialization point of view
  • Bring their research results and technologies to the market
  • Exploit and protect their research results and technologies
  • Patent and manage the patenting process

The trainers
