Mr Kai Huotari started on 1 August, 2012 as the Co-location Centre Manager for the Helsinki Node of EIT ICT Labs. Kai's background is a mix of cinema, engineering, business and academia. He got his Master of Arts degree after studying film directing at the University of Toulouse-Le Mirail and his second master's degree is in computer science from Aalto University in Finland. 

After graduation, Kai worked briefly in a company creating content from blockbuster Hollywood movies to Nokia mobile phones. In 2003, he started as executive director of DocPoint - Helsinki Documentary Film Festival. He led the festival for three years, before joining Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT where he worked as research programme manager and started his doctoral studies at the marketing department of Hanken - School of Economics. The past two years, Kai spent in California as a visiting scholar at UC Berkeley School of Information working on his PhD on so-called TV live tweeting.

The Helsinki team is happy to get Kai onboard and warmly welcomes him!
