'WiseTown' is a big data analytics platform for city planners.

Italian scaleup, TeamDev, the developer of 'WiseTown' a big data analytics platform for local governments, has joined the EIT Digital Accelerator to assist their plans for growth and to gain access to new European markets.

Founded in 2008, TeamDev is a dynamic Italian ICT SME with a strong focus on technological innovation and system integrations. The scaleup has strong experience in geographical environmental sciences, agriculture and smart cities. They have just developed a big data analytics platform for the public administration sector called WiseTown.

This smart city product is a B2B solution integrated with Fiware that collects information from different data streams to identify the issues that affect cities in several areas: urban renewal, refuse collection, public safety, transportation, social services and environmental issues.

They have now joined the EIT Digital Accelerator to help them increase their access to market locally in Italy but also throughout Europe in countries including Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands. They are also expecting to grow their workforce making use of the access to talent that the EIT Digital Accelerator provides.

TeamDev will also join the EIT Digital 'Digital Cities' Action Line which leverages the digital transformation of cities through centralised, participative and collaborative interactions between city actors: government, city service providers, industry, and citizens. This transformation enables the deployment of disruptive information, mobility and safety services in cities.

By joining the EIT Digital Accelerator, TeamDev will benefit from expert support that will not only help them accelerate their growth by gaining new customers in Italy and across Europe, but also reach new talents via EIT Digital Access to Market programme.

Head of EIT Digital Accelerator, Dolf Wittkamper said: "We are very pleased to welcome TeamDev to the Accelerator. They have developed a really innovative product that can adapt to any public administration setting and therefore has a Europe-wide application. We love the idea that they don't want to focus only on big cities but also on smaller towns as well. It's completely in line with our motto at EIT Digital of 'driving Europe's digital transformation'."

Andrea Cruciani, CEO and founder of TeamDev said: "We are excited to be joining the EIT Digital Accelerator to develop our market. Our revenue was some 950K€ in 2016 - we expect to increase 50% turnover for 2017 and to be able to reach other countries like Spain, Netherlands, France or Germany. We are also planning to grow our team and aim to have a minimum of eight new recruits in 2017 with the help of the EIT Digital Accelerator."
