International startup event in Trento - Mind the Bridge BootCamp 2012

Italian tech startups gathered in Trento on September 28 and 29. Mind the Bridge Boot Camp 2012 was a highly successful event organised by Trento RISE and Mind the Bridge Foundation (MtB) with co-funding of the EIT ICT Labs. The event reached the expectation of the participants and confirmed the success of the EIT ICT Labs Entrepreneurs Club activity.

The MtB Boot Camp was open only to selected startups from the MtB Seed quest 2012 Accelerator progamme. 20 startups and more than 50 young startupers from all over Italy were selected.

Startups pitched and received feedback from mentors with exceptional experience in new ventures. The most successful startups will be admitted at the Mind the Bridge Venture Camp – the prestigious two-day international event held at Corriere della Sera in Milan – and will present their startups to an audience of investors. The finalists will join the MtB accelerator.

Mentors included Business Coaches of the EIT ICT Labs from the nodes of Eindhoven, Helsinki, Paris and Trento, as well as international Venture Capitalists and other business professionals with relevant ICT knowledge from global innovation capitals such as London, Zurich, Milan, California and New York.

The MtB Boot Camp was a unique opportunity for some of the best Italian startup to grow on a professional level, fine-tune their business plans and to have networking opportunities provided by the EIT ICT Labs Entrepreneurs Club activity. Also the mentors had the opportunity to network and learn more about the Italian situation in the startup sector.

Special guest of the MtB Boot Camp was the European Editor of the TechCrunch – Mike Butcher – who gave a lecture on the relations between startups and media.  A special article on the blogsite TechCruch was dedicated to the startup activities in Italy:  “Italians Take Up The Torch To Ignite Their Own Tech Startup Scene”.
