The EIT Digital’ Future Networking Solutions Business Community in collaboration with partner iMinds, created good visibility at the 4th edition of the Internet of Things Event that took place on June 2nd 2015, at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, the Netherlands. The conference and exhibition attracted 400+ international delegates, speakers and sponsors, and provided great intellectual and social interaction for the participants.
iMinds contributed a track in the conference by Wouter Haerick, CTO at iMinds Internet Technologies. He gave a presentation on ‘Sustaining innovation in IoT’. Wouter mentioned “it’s all about ownership of valuable data. That is also what big companies like Google start to realise.“ At the exhibition, EIT Digital presented the Idea Challenge and was flanked by 2 coached startups of the Business Accelerator. Waylay is one of them and is here mentioned as it is also member of the FNS Business Community.
Waylay is a startup that helps companies to increase operational efficiency by leveraging real-time sensor data in business processes. Waylay's automation platform analyzes and correlates sensor data with data from enterprise IT systems and cloud applications to provide real-time notifications, automation and predictive maintenance. The platform can e.g. be used by machine building companies that want to leverage sensor data to increase visibility on machinery deployed at customer premises. The CEO and co-founder of Waylay, Piet Vandaele says on the participation in this Internet of Things Event: “It was a good event to meet and discuss with people active in the IoT ecosystem. We have got a number of around 15 good contacts and leads, KPN Telecom included, to follow up with!”

The event gave insights in the rapidly developing market, in new technologies and in how other businesses apply the new opportunities that are brought by IoT.
