For the start-ups (all incubated by EIT ICT Labs) this was a unique chance to present their products to private investors, global industries from the Internet domain as well as to visitors. At the same time start-ups were able to attend top-level conferences on Web technologies.

This year at “LeWeb Paris” the following EIT ICT Labs incubated start-ups were present: Quuppa from Finland, SpazioDati from Italy, Sowiso from the Netherlands, Panospective from Germany, White_C from Germany and Leankr from France and Degoo from Sweden. For them the peculiar added value in participating in such event is the opportunity of setting up networks and building for new business opportunities.

During the event the booth of the EIT ICT Labs has been visited by Fleur Pellerin, French Minister for Small and Medium Enterprises, Innovation and the Digital Economy, at the Ministry for Productive Renewal (the former Ministry of the Economy, Finance, and Industry) who followed with attention the presentation of White_C and asked many questions about the technology used.

At “LeWeb”, White_C is presenting its competence in the Out-of-Home Media industry: «this conference has an important value as it helps to build contacts and find partners to develop its business with faster pace» Mehdi Moniri said.

The French start-up creates innovative technologies to enable the best second screen and connected TV experience. It has developed the RedBox, a semantic search engine that understands live TV and delivers related content in real-time while you watch television.

Björn Bellensdorf from Panospective pointed out that “LeWeb” is also a possibility to «attend workshops and learn from highly qualified speakers». His Berlin based start-up has developed Throwable Panoramic Ball Camera. It allows users to take 360 degrees photos in an extremely intuitive and easy way.

Marc Habbema from Sowiso, a start-up dealing with e-learning, commented he felt «privileged to be present at “LeWeb” ». «From the start-up point of view based in the Netherlands the event is really top of the bill when it comes to internet» he said.

For the founder and CEO of SpazioDati, Michele Barbera, “LeWeb” was not only a possibility to network, but also a possibility to present the start-up to bloggers and media. SpazioDati is a start-up established at the beginning of 2012, offering data market and work at the crossroads between big data, semantic data and lined data.
