EIT Digital Spain welcomes Playthe.net to its accelerator program

Playthe.net (https://www.playthe.net) is a digital signage company that is revolutionising the outdoor advertising industry.

Playthe.net has developed a disruptive solution for Digital Out of Home Advertising (DOOH) that integrates the entire value chain (from ad creation, to content distribution and data analytics. They do so by managing a large network of integrated screens (e>plays) targeting high market concentration sites (SME retailers such as pharmacies, hotels, bars, cafés, shopping centers, …) and monetising through its advertising channel.

Driven by an innovative digital, effective and low cost platform, Playthe.net provides accessible outdoor advertising for all kinds of clients, from major brands to small businesses & individuals. Their on-line platform allows advertisers to easily create their own content using an easy-to-use content management system. Since Playthe.net provides a playlist format (as opposed to traditional carrousel systems), advertisers can organise and customise their content to appear at a specific time, in a specific location, for a specific duration of time.

It’s interconnected digital screens (e>plays) also provide free WiFi service (Intelligent WiFree) for the SME’s , which allows them to aggregate and generate valuable targeting information for advertisers about their audience (location, frequency, age, gender ..).

Playthe.net already operates over 4,000 e>plays in a diversified network of SME retailers in Spain, and has just signed a strategic agreement with Wharf T&T (Hong Kong based Telecomm Operator) which will allow them to quickly grow in this market.

Their next international target market is the UK, where they plan to enter during the 3rd quarter of 2015. The Spanish and UK teams are currently working closely with Luis Miguel Vindel (CEO of Playthe.net) and his team to ensure a smooth landing and quick scale-up.

This active EIT Digital support encompasses, among others, identifying and engaging key Telecommunications and Media partners as well as defining best strategy and approach to address the different SME segments through trade associations and distribution partners. In addition the Spanish BDA team is already working with Playthe.net to obtain additional local funding and will coordinate in the near future with the Access to Finance team to approach potential European investors.
