EIT ICT Labs is very thankful for the useful work and outcome provided by Dr. Seif Haridi   as leader of COMPUTING IN THE CLOUD and his teams, and is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Tua Huomo as the new Leader of the FUTURE CLOUD action line

Dr. Huomo brings 20 years of experience, research and leadership in the ICT sector and is recognised for her role as a driver of the transformation in Cloud. 

Currently, Dr. Huomo is a program and research coordinator in the area of digital services and business research at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. From 2010–2013, Dr. Huomo has successfully coordinated the industry-leading DIGILE Cloud Software Program (www.cloudsoftwareprogram.org) - a large collaborative research initiative focused on Cloud technologies, processes and business.

The in-depth experience gained while working on numerous VTT projects, different EU activities and her coordination of the Cloud Software Program, positions Dr. Huomo is an ideal Action Line Leader for EIT ICT Labs Future Cloud Program.

Cloud Computing has brought about a significant change in how products, solutions and services are delivered, consumed and produced. Today many companies and organizations must focus on working or transforming to the Cloud - in order to remain viable, efficient and innovative. The Cloud is enabling new types of services for all of us and new business potential to many companies.

Dr. Huomo will foster cloud services and technologies on a European level, for a better common benefit, to engage customers in different ways to share results and information and understand most of all what they value in. She aims to target companies but also general public. Her forte is to successfully run projects and activities mainly in applied research. She is definitely result oriented and very eager to take new challenges.

Dr. Huomo received a PhD in information processing science from the University of Oulu, Finland in 2000 and a MBA with distinction from Oxford Brookes University, UK in 2009.
