Still a new concept, the Digital Health Days (DHD) in Stockholm is growing in audience and scope. The community is engaged before, during and after the event in various activities and channels such as recorded pre-talks, blogs, IoT for Health hackathon and live talk shows during the conference focussed on three central themes - the Patient in Focus, Sustainability and Implementation.

The audience is a mix of practioners, researchers and entrepreneurs. Best practices, such as the connected hospital, working with biosensors and platforms for shared medical data - among professionals and patients were shared and discussed. How to design for patient autonomy or how to redefine patient data safety were some of the topics - many of them addressing the Big Data of Health- and Self-care.

Big Data and Digital Health

The quantified self, the Internet of things, big data (and security) topics were highlighted both as opportunities and potential threats. The implications of data control and access needs to be addressed by government organisations and corporations to form transparent and ethical procedures regarding the individual.

The DHD is also a meeting space for start-ups and investors. The HWB Business community were pitching and received interest for their solutions and services - many of them based on aggregated data, for secure medical data management, rehabilitation, fitness and wellbeing.
