Nearly 40 IT professionals participated in EuroCloud Hungary’s Innovation Day that was organised in cooperation with the EIT Digital Budapest APG on the 28th of January 2016. The main goal of the event was to present EuroCloud Hungary’s plans for innovation to the interested IT professionals and give an overview of the upcoming cloud related calls in the GINOP (Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme) and EU Horizon 2020 funding programmes.

EuroCloud Europe is a pan-European hub, a completely vendor neutral knowledge sharing network between Cloud Computing Customers and Providers, Start-ups and Research centres and maintains constant open dialogue with all partners to bring IT and business together. It takes an active role in the development of the cloud computing market, and committed to innovation, quality and standards and helps establish Trust in Cloud both on the customer and on the user side. EIT Digital is an interesting organisation for the EuroCloud network, as the Future Cloud Action Line is strictly connected to its activity. EuroCloud has country members in 8 EIT Digital and 10 ARISE countries.

During the event Eurocloud’s activities and plans, as well as funding opportunities in the GINOP and EU Horizon 2020 R&D 2016-2017 Programmes were presented, with special regard to the application of cloud technologies and the tender opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises. On behalf of the Budapest APG, László Gulyás, EIT Digital ARISE Lead gave a presentation about EIT Digital’s regional activities, about the ARISE Programme, and introduced briefly the local activities of EIT Digital Budapest.

The innovation day was open for any professionals, who are interested in cloud technologies and services.
