The Budapest Doctoral Training Centre was established in 2013 and currently has 23 PhD students. A dedicated DTC Lab was established and officially opened by the Budapest APG on the 20th of February 2015 to provide PhD students a dedicated place of their own, where they can cooperate with the whole EIT ICT Labs community locally and internationally. The room was installed with high-tech IT equipment (like video conferencing system, projector and interactive touchscreen) to offer the opportunity for students to work creatively and to take advantage of the EIT ICT Labs’ professional network.

The purpose of creating the Lab was to offer a real co-working space for the students in the Budapest CLC, reassure to spend even more time in the office and encourage them to get involved in the local research projects. The Lab is located at the Budapest CLC and can be used for all PhD students for any meetings or events related to their studies.

All participants involved in EIT ICT Labs Doctoral School’s activities were invited to the formal opening of the Budapest DTC Lab. Maurizio Gabbrielli, the Head of the EIT ICT Labs Doctoral School, some EIT ICT Labs DTC managers, the Advisory Board Members and the PhD students of the Budapest DTC, and the Budapest APG’s management participated in the event.

Before the official opening of the Lab the regular meeting of the Budapest DTC’s Advisory Board took place at the Budapest CLC.
