Waiting for EXPO: EIT ICT Labs @ BIT, Borsa Internazionale del Turismo

The International Travel Fair, known as Bit (Borsa Internazionale del Turismo) is a 3-day event that brings together tour operators from all over the world and a large audience of visitors, travel lovers, television and press. The 2015 edition represents a clean break from the past years, introducing significant changes: primarily, the segment division - MICE, LEISURE and LUXURY - a substantial space for OLTA’s thanks to Bit.DIGITAL, and a brand new area dedicated to ART, CULTURE and FOOD&WINE, aiming to promote Italian excellence in the world. Bit 2015, in conjunction with EXPO, gives the opportunity to create a direct link between tour operators and tourists from all over the world.

EIT ICT Labs will participate in this big event with a stand (G21) in the Digital World Area, demonstrating during all three days the showcase app ExplorMI 360 of the flagship activity 3cixty.

The more general 3cixty platform for the development of applications for city visitors will be presented in a 45-minute workshop titled “Beyond Maps: 3cixty, a New Platform for City Exploration”, which will offer an opportunity to discover 3cixty’s features and powerful resources. The platform, developed by EIT ICT Labs and its partners from Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK, supports the development of applications that exploit a comprehensive urban knowledge base, offering a "360° view" of a city. Apps and services developed on the 3cixty platform aim to provide visitors to the Universal Expo Milano 2015, as well as everybody else living in or visiting Milan, with a "smart city experience”.

The workshop will be held on Thursday, February 12th, at 12.30 in the Digital Arena.

For free access to the event, please download the invitation and register at the dedicated web site by February 11th.
