Eight exciting IoT start-ups compete in Stockholm on December 3rd

Idea Challenge finalists

"This year we asked for more mature IoT start-ups and with eight finalists from six countries we will have an interesting and inspiring event in Stockholm", promises Magnus Melander, entrepreneur, business consultant IoT, evangelist for THINGS Stockholm as well as project manager of the EIT Digital Idea Challenge in Internet of Things.

The eight finalists pitching their ideas to judges are:

Eight start-ups have been shortlisted in the category Internet of Things out of 79 applicants. The finalists will pitch their ideas in front of a jury of experts in Kista (Stockholm), Sweden on Thursday December 3rd.

eCozy GmbH (Germany)

eCozy is a design-driven intelligent thermostat (radiator-based programmable) that helps you save up to 30% of annual heating costs.

Sensefinity (Portugal)

Sensefinity is a focused SaaS, out-of-the-box Hardware and configuration-less communications to guarantee food and vaccine safety.

Slashe (France)

Slashtag is the first platform to answer multitasking Millennials' needs over the world, by combining an online television, a social network and an interactive mobile application.

Spark Works ITC Limited (UK)

Spark Works is an Internet of Things platform delivers an integrated and secure platform for the entire IoT architecture across all vertical markets.


Internet of Things for industries: TeepTrak is a set of cost effective tools to monitor production effectiveness in real-time and improve in a fast and sustainable way.

Thingful Limited (UK) is a search engine for Internet connected objects globally and we are building IoT data transaction management tools to unlock the value of private and public IoT data.

Tractive GmbH (Austria)

Tractive is an award-winning ecosystem for pet owners and pet lovers. Tractive designs, develops and creates pet wearables and apps in the pet space to help and assist pet owners.

Vinnter AB (Sweden)

Vinnter IoT Gateway is a modular hardware and software platform, enabling retrofit connectivity for new and legacy industrial products.

The final of the Idea Challenge IoT is held at the EIT Digital Co-location Centre @Electrum in Kista on December 3rd. The purpose of the Challenge is to reach out, identify and support the best digital start-ups in Europe, especially those that are focused on fast growth in the EU and worldwide. Last year’s finalists have all made great progress during the year with major deals, investors and plans to scale up and launch products in other markets.

The three final winners will be chosen by an expert jury and will receive a package including a cash prize up to €40,000, mentoring support, workspace, and access to buyer networks across the EU and beyond. Winners will also be part of EIT Digital's unique ecosystem, an international innovation network that includes global companies, world-leading universities and research institutes, and cutting-edge innovators.
