What are the building blocks for a good pitch for investors?

SHORT PITCH (between 60 seconds and 10 minutes) Get your story in the first image!

  1. Problem: connect emotionally with your audience
  2. Solution: resolve the pain – PRODUCT / SERVICE (what are you serving?)
  3.  
  4. Business/revenue model: how do you make money?
  5. Competition: why you’re better than competitors
  6. Marketing plan: customer acquisition / distribution channels, etcetera

LONG PITCH (15 - 60 minutes)

  1. Problem: connect emotionally with your audience
  2. Solution: resolve the pain – PRODUCT / SERVICE (what are you serving?)
  3.  
  4. Business/revenue model: how you make money?
  5. Proprietary technology: your unfair advantage(s)
  6. Competition: why you’re better than competitors
  7. Marketing plan: customer acquisition / distribution channels, etcetera
  8. Financials: quarterly revenues versus expensions (forecast of 3 years)
  9. Your team
  10. How much money do you need and what do you offer to the investor 

GENERAL TIPS

     

  • Be convinced and enthusiastic

  • Be prepared for your audience

  • Dress well, sleep well and relax (switch 15 minutes before presenting your phone off)

  • Use pictures!

  • Make you letter fonts not too small (and place not too much text on the slides)

  • Make spare sheets with pictures –which you can use when you receive questions from the audience
