EIT ICT Labs has set up an ambitious project aiming to create a European trusted cloud platform. A call for SMEs to participate in the work is now open.

The first workshop for interested SMEs was held at the Digital Catapult Centre in London, on the 19th of January, where the companies got involved in demos of the platforms and capabilities and used the opportunity to gain an insight into the core partners’ platforms and data and discuss possibilities for extending their business. The attendees had the opportunity to meet and network with European market leaders in trusted data, storage technologies and facilitated these organisations to take the next step to significantly impacting their business.

The event got great interest with almost 700 hits on the web page and over 40 participating companies. “We are expecting to get a good number of applications by the deadline of February 13, 2015 at 4pm CET,” explained Maria Prokopi from Digital Catapult, the organiser of the event and a partner of EIT ICT Labs.

"It was great to meet people from the UK SME community and notice that many have thought about the same issues on privacy and how to build services which people can trust. The message is clear and our activity will be leading the way towards services where consumers and businesses can trust they know where their data and content is.” stated Markku Kutvonen, activity lead for Trusted Cloud.

10 companies will be selected to work with EIT ICT Labs on building the European trusted cloud platform and related services. You can be of those – apply now
