The EIT House opening climaxed on a panel discussion on “The future of innovation and the added-value of the EIT Community”. The EIT House visiting address is: Rue Guimard 7, 1040 Brussels.

The new EIT House, at the proximity of the European Union decision-making nucleus in Brussels, on Rue Guimard was officially opened on Tuesday, 26th September. The EIT House provides a new event and co-working space in Brussels for the EIT, EIT Digital and other the EIT Knowledge and Information Communities (or KICs). Tibor Navracsics, the European Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport and responsible for the EIT, honoured the event by his presence. 

EIT Digital CEO Willem Jonker said:

“The EIT House in Brussels will help to raise the profile of the EIT Community with key Brussels-based stakeholders. It will demonstrate the added value of the EIT, EIT Digital and the other KICs to the Brussels-based decision-makers by showcasing results and successes. We are proud to have strengthened our base to drive Europe’s Digital Transformation.”

During the event, the various EIT KICs presented their operations on their stands, hosted also by entrepreneurs and innovators from the EIT Community.

The event climaxed on a panel discussion on “The future of innovation and the added-value of the EIT Community”. Participants to the panel, moderated by Martin Kern (EIT Interim Director) were Willem Jonker (EIT Digital CEO, also representing the entire EIT Community), Lambert Van Nistelrooij (Member of the European Parliament), Martine Reicherts (European Commission, Director at General DG Education and Culture), and Patrick Child (European Commission, Deputy Director at General DG).
