Claudio Santori is one of four entrepreneurs to reside in Berlin over three months.

About to start is the first Berlin Residency Program, part of XEU Outreach Programme of EIT ICT Labs. This program invites startups from our outreach countries to Berlin, to connect to the Berlin startup scene and the partners of EIT ICT Labs, to receive workshops and presentations on typical questions for foreign SMEs and to network with new prospect business partners.

Other than that, the startups will be supported with an amount to cover a three-month residency in Berlin-Charlottenburg from August to October 2014. The access and connection to the facilities in our Co-Location Centre are of course given.

Intensive learning

The workshop program includes expanding themes, legal issues, accounting, access-to-finance, workshops on usability, lean development, IPR strategies & networked markets. During the last month the seminar program is focusing on getting ready for the demo that explains and pitches the product to a bigger audience. This is an integrated part of the stay.

„We are happy to provide startups from countries outside the EIT ICT Labs network to join us", said Udo Bub (Germany Node Director). "We are curious to learn about their products and technical innovations. The added value for EIT ICT Labs is to engage and integrate entrepreneurs from those regions into the EIT ICT Labs scope of business.“

First selection

The first of two a total of three startups have been selected: Bliu Bliu from Lithuania and LineMetrics from Austria take the lead in assigning to the Residency Program.

"I am really excited that Bliu Bliu will soon have the possibility to be immersed in the inspiring startup scene in Berlin", says Claudio Santori, CEO of Bliu Bliu. "For us this is an excellent opportunity to cooperate with EIT ICT Labs and its partner network." Bliu Bliu is a startup whose product is an app to ease learn languages.

Wolfgang Hafenscher, CMO & Co-founder of LineMetrics explains: "We are quite excited and looking forward to put the three months to good use. Mainly we want to expand our German network of integration and distribution partners. Maybe even lay the groundwork for our first office in Germany. We are also looking forward to connect with some of the EIT ICT partners and get in contact with the international start-up scene in Berlin."

One more startup that will be welcomed in the Residency Program starting in August is Excalibur from Slovakia (their slogan: "No more usernames, no more passwords. Just use your mobile phone as your universal digital key.")
