CloudRunnerIO and Imagga, two startups from Bulgaria were selected in Future Cloud action line with aim to introduce startups to new markets. Each startup was awarded with 40k€ prize. 

Both start-ups will spend two weeks at the Trento Co-Location Centre between February 2015 and May 2015 for their business plan review. Startups will also receive training on business development techniques and pitching. The support will be provided by EIT ICT Labs Business Developers and other international experts, in synergy with TechPeaks. CloudRunner IO will be coached by Business Developer Antonio Mosca. Imagga will be coached by Business Developer Fabio Carati.

CloudRunnerIO and Imagga will also take part in a business trip, either to London or Berlin. The business trip will be organised in collaboration with EIT ICT Labs in London and/or Berlin in order to meet investors and other relevant contacts in the industry with focus on marketing and sales. This business trip will last for about ten days between March 2015 and June 2015. 

Innovative startups

CloudRunner IO has developed an automation framework that helps software engineers and system administrators to manage IT infrastructure. The solution enables Cloud orchestration and customization of multiple Cloud services and systems directly from the console and web based tools.

Imagga has developed Image Recognition Platform-as-a-Service providing Image Tagging APIs for developers and businesses to build scalable and monetizable image intensive apps in the cloud. The solution enables semantic analysis of images and subsequent use in both vertical industries and Big Data analysis.

Outreach Programme for startups

Dissemination and promotion of the EIT ICT Labs activities in countries that are not yet involved in EIT ICT Labs are the main objectives of the Outreach Europe programme. One of the activities of this programme aims at contributing to the creation of start-ups by building strong ties with EIT ICT Labs Action lines and other related innovation programmes and contests. 

In the context of the Outreach Europe programme and in collaboration with TechPeaks, EIT ICT Labs supports start-ups in their growth by awarding prizes for internationalization in the European markets for an overall amount of €80.000,00 (eightythousand/00), based on the scores resulting from the evaluation process. EIT ICT Labs also offers concrete opportunities of growth and internationalization by means of business support activities at EIT ICT Labs Italy, in Trento, as well as a business trip to other Co-Location Centres to network with potential investors and explore business development opportunities.
