EIT Digital Urban Life and Mobility start-ups and innovation activities took to the stage at New Mobility World at the International Motor Show (IAA) held in Frankfurt am Main in September. Both exhibiting and presenting, the EIT Digital Business Development Accelerator team, the <link news-events events article eit-digitals-high-impact-initiative-fit-to-perform-postexpo-2015>Fit to Perform initiative and a range of EIT Digital start-ups made the most of the first New Mobility World (NMW) exhibition at the IAA event. EIT Digital was an official NMW partner for Mobility Services, which looks at how mobile internet and smart phones are shaping the future of travel management, car-sharing, location-based services and efficient traffic flow control in smart cities. New Mobility World was launched this year to showcase digital innovation changing the automotive industry.

A number of EIT Digital’s innovation activities and coached start-ups attended NMW to showcase their solutions to businesses and potential buyers, presenting on different stages twice a day on average during the two week event. An overview of the stage activities can be found here. Start-ups included Plugsurfing, an application and billing service to empower electric car drivers, and Unu Motors, a smart access solution for car sharing.

Adam Woolway, MD of Plugsurfing, based in Berlin said:
“PlugSurfing exhibited at the IAA and we were very grateful for the support from EIT Digital. The exhibition placed PlugSurfing at the centre of both the largest and most innovative companies within the e-mobility industry. Our presence there led to an increased awareness of PlugSurfing and generated hundreds of business leads on which we are now following up.”

"Being a younger start-up in the hardware and mobility space, it was an incredible feeling to be supported at a mega international show like IAA and having the opportunity to connect with big players in the automotive and technology industries. Organisations like EIT Digital, Flextronics and New Mobility World bringing high potential start-ups together really helped us build visibility by combining a thorough schedule of media days, and B2B networking to develop our strategic partnerships – and the first B2C weekend was a perfect atmosphere to launch our product and get insightful customer feedback." Head of PR and Growth at Unu Motors, Candy Behunin.

EIT Digital also made contact with a range of new and exciting innovators working in the mobility field and with potential new corporate partners.
