On May 2nd, Valérie Pécresse French Minister of Higher Education & Research, kicked-off the LINCS (Laboratory of Information, Network and Communication Sciences) which is supported by the EIT ICT Labs Paris Node co-location centre.

At the inauguration, the Minister declared herself “Godmother” to the LINCS. It is a joint laboratory for Alcatel-Lucent, INRIA, Institut Télécom and UPMC. The target is top international research within the domain of future networks and services, which will contribute to further strengthening the French and European innovation impact.

The scientific and technological scope of the LINCS covers some of the EIT ICT Labs activity lines:
-Internet technologies and Architectures,
-Computing in the Cloud,
-Digital Services of the Future,
-Smart Spaces.

The added value comes from the co-location of researchers from most of the members of the French node, with offices dedicated to invited researchers (e.g. from other nodes) as a basis for supporting the EIT ICT labs objectives.
