Jean Gelissen, Action Line Leader Health & Wellbeing, has been invited to give a keynote speech at ICOST’ Singapore 2013 . The three-days international Conference on Smart Homes and health Telematics takes place for the eleventh time from 19-21 June. The event features workshops, panel discussions, plenary talks and presentations. ICOST 2013 will involve key experts from more than 15 countries worldwide. Singapore, which already hosted ICOST in 2004, is fast becoming an international hub in ICT for health.

ICOST is considered as a premier venue for the presentation and discussion of research in the design, development, deployment and evaluation of Smart Environments, Assistive Technologies and Health Telematics systems. ICOST brings together stakeholders from clinical, academic and industrial perspectives and along with end users and their family carers explore how Smart Homes and Health Telematics can foster independent living and offer an enhanced quality of life. ICOST 2013 invites participants to present and discuss their experiences in the design, development, deployment and evaluation that demonstrate significant contributions in the areas of smart homes, health telematics and assistive technologies. ICOST 2013 will provide a dynamic program which will incorporate a range of technical, clinical and industrial related keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations along with demonstrations and technical exhibits.

The keynote of Jean Gelissen will be focused on the societal challenges that EIT ICT Labs addresses and in particular the ageing population and the Active Healthy Ageing strategy of the action line Health and Wellbeing.
