On Monday 1 September 2014, the kick-off meeting of the EIT ICT Labs ‘Professionals Fit to Perform’ project took place in the Co-location Centre Eindhoven at the High Tech Campus. The meeting was the official kick-off of the predecessor (early bird) of the Action Line Health and Wellbeing High Impact Initiative ‘Fit to Perform’.

This early bird activity started with a kick-off workshop while the 'full-blown' activity will start on January 1, 2015. High Impact Initiatives are motivated by the ambition to focus more on activities with high impact potential and are fully executed by the participating partners at the EIT ICT Labs CLC’s. The attendees of the kick-off workshop represented partners from the UK, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands and the activities will be carried out at the London and Eindhoven Co-location Centre.

Willem Jonker, CEO of EIT ICT Labs, surprised the partners with a welcome note. He expressed that he was very pleased that EIT ICT Labs’ Action Line on Health and Wellbeing was able to kick off the ‘early bird’ workshop already on 1 September. He also underlined the importance of the High Impact Initiative on society.

The activity will push the roll-out of smart pro-active wellbeing and safety solutions for risk-prone professional workers and individuals based on cardio-respiratory and motion sensing supporting the mission ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure’.
