Fred Boekhorst is the new Chairman of the Dutch Node Executive Committee. He takes over the baton from Peter Apers who welcomes his successor. Fred Boekhorst serves as a member of the Executive Steering Board (ESB) for EIT ICT Labs and is a member of the Dutch Node Executive Committee (NEC) since 2012.  He succeeded Peter Apers as the chairman of the NEC in August 2013, by saying:

“I am very happy and honored to be the chair of the Node Executive Committee of the Dutch node of the EIT ICT Labs. I very much believe in creating strong ICT competencies for the better of Europe and look forward to have the Dutch node become a strong contributor to this goal.”

Fred Boekhorst currently serves as the Research Program Manager for Consumer Lifestyle with the rank of Senior Vice President, Philips Research, as such he is responsible for all global front-end innovation for the Consumer Lifestyle Sector within Philips. In addition, he is also managing the global Research Program for Intellectual Property & Standards.

Throughout his career, Fred managed innovation from different perspectives, ranging from Project leader, Department Head, Innovation portfolio manager to Program Manager with initially a focal point on Systems & Software, followed by a focus on Health & Wellbeing.

With gratitude to Peter Apers we all welcome his successor, Fred Boekhorst, as Chairman of EIT ICT Labs node Eindhoven.
