On Monday 27/5, Ferrero, the italian manufacturer of chocolate and other confectionery products, visited EIT ICT Labs' Co-Location Centre in Trento. 

During the visit, Enzo Bertolini, the chief information officer of Ferrero lerned about innovation activities of the EIT ICT Labs partners and the ecosystem in Trento.

Ferrero delegation visited ESTRO, the R&D laboratory of Engineering, that is located in Trento and focussed on research projects concerning innovation on tourist ict services and big data technologies.

While visiting the laboratories of Graphitech, the delegation was able to view a demonstration of the technologies developed by the Foundation. For each of the different research areas (Geo-VisualAnalisys, Cultural Heritage and Augmented Engineering) staff explained the techniques of the different solutions, especially emphasizing the use of solutions based on the ITaaS concept. 

Ferrero met also with Practix, a company that produces software in the field of group interaction and designs and produces collaborative man-machine tabletop interfaces to facilitate collaborative learning and group work. The technology developed by Practix lends itself perfectly to use in different environments, for instance for training and in museums, and for group work and decision-making support. 

The visit was an opportunity for an open and constructive discussion on the management of the mutual influences between applied research and business innovation.
