EIT ICT Labs managed Software Campus’ first graduates meet industry and politics at German national IT summit

On October 21, around thousand senior IT executives and high ranked politicians met in Hamburg to discuss programmes to strengthen the German IT industry at IT Summit. One of the programmes successfully founded at IT Summit 2011 is Software Campus, which is managed by EIT ICT Labs Germany. Funded by the Federal Ministry of Education & Research (BMBF), Software Campus trains and professionally develops tomorrow’s senior IT executives while opening up excellent career prospects to young IT experts in Germany.

Within this year, the first 50 alumni will finish the programme by finalizing their research project and attending several executive trainings. To four of them, Federal Minister of Research and Education Johanna Wanka has bid farewell in the presence of the partners SAP and DFKI. Together with the partners Dr. Udo Bub, managing director of Berlin node, handed some of the first certificates over.

The Software Campus not only aims to train the young IT experts, but also wants to open up divers careers within the partner network. And that’s why, besides receiving their certificate, the career stories of these alumni have been told, e.g. to the IT summit blog. Wether they accept management jobs in the industry, found their own business or lead a reaserch team - they are supported by the Software Campus partners, which cooperate closely instead of fighting the „war of talents“.
