EIT Digital presented today, at the Urban Center in Milan the ExplorMi 360 App (available from www.3cixty.com).
The app is a suite of services that offers prospective and current visitors to Milan EXPO 2015 and the city of Milan novel ways of exploring and using a wide range of information about the event EXPO 2015 and the city, including a wealth of data from services offered through the "E015 digital ecosystem".
In innovative ways, data from a variety of local and global information sources are integrated semantically and made available via several user interfaces.
These powerful and convenient services were put together using advanced technologies provided by the project partners DFKI, Eurecom, Inria, Politecnico di Milano, Telecom Italia, and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and in collaboration with the partners CEFRIEL, Delft University of Technology, and Fondazione Politecnico di Milano and the startup companies Ambientic, evensi, InnoValor, Localidata, and Mobidot.
These fourteen contributors, in five European countries, have been working within the EIT Digital framework to capitalize on their respective skills and market presence.
The services are made available through a web-based application and through mobile apps downloadable free of charge from the Android and Apple app stores.
The App also recently gained the Patronage of EXPO 2015.
After an introduction on EIT Digital by the CEO, Willem Jonker, and a speech from representatives of Milan Municipality and EXPO 2015 company the event kicked off with live demos from Expo volunteers.
Explanations were given on the technical aspects of the App, and many speakers, from several partner that collaborated for the App development, underlined the importance of the collaborative work that is behind the 3cixty project.
Rosa Lancini, manager of the EIT Digital Milano Satellite, explained Milan business ecosystem and then, Roberto Saracco, Italy Node Director, closed the event with a presentation on the development of the Data Economy.
