The interest for EIT Digital’s master programmes has steadily been growing since they were launched 5 years ago in 2011. In 2012, 94 students had registered and moved from all around the world to join one of the seven programmes offered at that time. In 2015, the organization rebranded from EIT ICT Labs to EIT Digital, to better describe the overall vision and outreach of its activities as well as adding a new program in Data Science to its Master School. The result for this year is 298 registered students distributed at the 20 European partner universities that are part of the EIT Digital Master School. We are also extremely happy to see the diversity in our classrooms with students coming from more than 50 countries, and we are maintaining a high ratio of female students compared to similar programmes of the same focus areas, approx. 30 per cent. This we hope of course to further increase in the coming years.
Tomorrow's digital innovators and entrepreneurs
The technical and innovation focused platforms have proven their reliability and been successful in providing top-talented ICT students with a competitive advantage in their future careers. Many of the EIT Digital students are today working as researchers, managers and innovators, both inside the traditional industry as well as in newly formed startups, where they also often have the role of an entrepreneur, owner or consultant.
The positive and increasing number of students from each year, together with the positive feedback provided by both the students and teachers makes us hopeful and motivated to once again provide our prospective students the best possible support during their admission process. We will continue to improve our programmes so that the students joining them in 2016 will have the best possible education and innovation experience possible.
