At the last Tea time talk at the Stockholm CLC, Director Vasilis Koulolias of eGovLab presented the centre activities and invited the Master students to take part in the app competition Apps4eGov related to Service innovation and open data to be launched in January 2014.

The requirements are that the app should pull open data feeds from at least 3 public administrations. The idea should be anchored on a local level: it must be implementable in Sweden and can also involve cross-border solutions (i.e pull data from non-Swedish agencies). All data used must conform to the “Open  Definition”.

Three finalists will receive a paid internship at eGovLab to test their ideas during one year with additional help: top developers, business coaching and marketing.  If the idea is viable, eGovLab will assist in finding sponsors to commercialize.

The eGovLab is hosted by the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Stockholm University, a partner of EIT ICT Labs in Stockholm. In 2014, they will move in to the new Node building close to the Stockholm CLC. Take a look in this virtual tour
