A matchmaking event organised by EIT Digital in Berlin, saw four EIT Digital cybersecurity scaleups pitching their services, products as well as themselves as prospects for corporate investments to cybersecurity experts and decision makers of one of the world's leading financial service providers. It proved to be a highly successful initiative.
Wolfgang Kniejski, the Leader of the EIT Digital Infrastructure Action Line Business Community and organiser of the event said:
"We have found a highly successful format for this kind of Access to Market event. Those hearing the pitches were extremely happy with the results and proposed to repeat a similar event focusing on other technology topics, such as networking technologies. We will definitely propose a similar format to other major financial service providers, three of whom have already expressed their interest for hosting this kind of event."
EIT Digital scaleups Cleafy, Ubiqu, Onegini and Origone presented their solutions, products, as well as their companies themselves at the event. The scaleups were able to agree Proof-of-Concept installations and discuss deal opportunities directly with cybersecurity decision makers and schedule further individual matchmaking meetings. Some of them also agreed on a cooperation and joint customer acquisition activities.
Representatives from the financial service provider’s US and Asia branches were also present, which resulted in opening-up direct links between their US branch and EIT Digital Silicon Valley Hub. The event will be extended through videoconferencing opportunities at a future date for additional scaleups supported by the EIT Digital Accelerator, such as Apply Mobile, CryptTalk, DigiFlak, OpenCloudFactory, RedBorder and Streamr.
