Internships in Europe

Internships in Europe

Prepare yourself for a career driving innovations in a global market. EIT Digital’s US->EU Internship Programme allows you to gain first-hand career experience through internships with Europe’s leading innovators. Additionally, access to EIT Digital’s events and networking opportunities make this educational opportunity a unique European experience.

How does this work?

You will intern with members of EIT Digital’s pan-European ecosystem, which include top European companies, SMEs, scale-ups, and research institutions. Each internship falls within an EIT Digital Focus Area.

EIT Digital focuses its investments on specific innovation areas that we have selected with respect to European relevance and leadership potential - the Innovation Focus Areas. We currently have five Focus Areas - Digital Industry, Digital Cities, Digital Wellbeing, Digital Infrastructure and Digital Finance. Your internship will fall into one or more of these Focus Areas.

There are two types of internships:

  • Internships through Study Abroad: These internships are done as a part of your study abroad curriculum. They are part-time and unpaid. You will need to register with your university for the study abroad programme located in the same city as (or within a commutable distance to) your internship. You will also need to make arrangements with your university to get academic credit for the internship.
  • Stand-Alone Internships: These internships are provided independent of any university programme. They are paid and can be part-time or full-time.

Your internship relationship and main point of contact is directly with the company with whom you are interning ("Host Company"). For the duration of your internship, your point of contact will be with your Host Company. The contact details are to be provided once you are selected for the internship. As a participant in this Programme, you will also have access to EIT Digital events and networking opportunities.

Note: You are responsible for organizing your own travel, housing, visa, and medical coverage. If the internship is a part of your study abroad curriculum, your university study abroad office will often assist you with many of these logistics.

Deadline to apply is November 18, 2018.
