Dr. Jan Procházka is the president and co-founder of HE3DA Ltd., Dr. Jan Procházka has spent years in Nano-technology research in the USA. He discovered the possibility of using lithium Nano-materials to create a whole new generation of high-power batteries with unique three-dimensional electrodes. This new 3D concept offers high storage capacity and offers many new benefits when compared to the currently used 2D thin film technology of lithium accumulators. Dr. Procházka continued his intensive research in the Czech Republic and created HE3DA Ltd.. He and his team have brought the technology into today's phase, close to utilization in the mass market. Dr. Procházka is the holder of several patents in this area. The technology of HE3DA is patent-protected globally.

Rafal Modrzewski is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of ICEYE. ICEYE aims to launch and operate a constellation of micro-SAR satellites providing access to timely and reliable Earth observation data. ICEYE is the first company that has successfully miniaturized a SAR satellite, creating a unit that is 100x more cost- efficient than the closest counterpart. With the 18-satellite constellation, ICEYE will offer its partners a set of unprecedented surveillance capabilities, accessing an area or interest faster, more frequently and at lower cost. Since co-founding the project in 2012, which became the company in 2014, with Pekka Laurila, Modrzewski is responsible for overseeing the organization’s strategic direction and implementing ICEYE’s overall vision. Modrzewski brings with him deep domain expertise in engineering through his years as a researcher. Prior to co-founding ICEYE, Modrzewski researched innovative products at VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland) in the RFID and wireless sensing group. He attended Warsaw University of Technology in Poland, where he studied Electrical Engineering and co-founded the Multimedia Technologies Science Group. Modrzewski continued his studies in Radio Science and Engineering at Aalto University where he led the on-board data handling team working on Aalto-1, Finland’s flagship satellite project.
Pekka Laurila is the Chief Financial Officer and co-founder of ICEYE. ICEYE aims to launch and operate a constellation of micro-SAR satellites providing access to timely and reliable Earth observation data. ICEYE is the first company that has successfully miniaturized a SAR satellite, creating a unit that is 100x more cost- efficient than the closest counterpart. As CFO, Laurila has been instrumental in establishing company-wide financial procedures and raising funds for ICEYE, which has now received over $15M in recent capital infusions. As a Nordic native from Finland watching the Arctic ice caps melt, Laurila joined forces with Rafal Modrzewski to create synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) microsatellites in hopes of ensuring the sustainability of global warming research. Prior to co-founding ICEYE, Laurila played an instrumental role in Finland’s Aalto University Nanosatellite Program, where he studied as a student of the Engineering and Geo-information Systems program. Using this engineering and entrepreneurial experience, Laurila helped to co-found a spin-out company of Aalto University, which would later become ICEYE.
