Plug & Wear, supported by EIT Digital Accelerator, receives award from Unicredit Start Lab 2016

Plug & Wear, supported by EIT Digital Accelerator, is recognised as the most innovative company in the category "Digital" by Unicredit Start Lab, the startup programme of the leading Italian bank.

The jury, formed by representatives of the leading industrial players, such as DHL Express Italy, Panini, Google, Cisco and NTT Data Italia, evaluated sustainability of the business model of 10 finalists. In the category “Digital” the finalists were chosen among almost 900 companies that participated at the Unicredit Start Lab edition 2016.

The award confirms Plug & Wear as one of the most innovative companies in the Internet of Things field and will help to pursue the objective to expand their business at international level.

Plug & Wear is Florence based company that produces smart fabrics. As spin-off of Texe, it merges Italian textile tradition with innovation and research on electronic textiles. The product range includes textile sensors and actuators, designed and manufactured using proprietary technologies. The company is already active in the health care market and aims to address automotive market.

Plug & Wear joined EIT Digital Accelerator in 2013 to expand across Europe and be introduced to potential industrial customers.
